BACKGROUND

Meurens Natural and Sedamyl are both family-owned businesses.
In April 2002, they decided to pool their expertise.
This commercial partnership has resulted in Sipal Partners.

Meurens Natural

In 1935, Joseph Meurens created a company at Herve (Belgium) specialising in the transformation of regional fruits, thereby perpetuating a family tradition that was already very old.
In 1989, seeking to diversify, the company initiated its first conclusive trials in transforming organic cereals into syrups.
In 1994, endowed with significant industrial expertise in the agro-foods sector, Meurens Natural decided to devote its energies exclusively to organic cereals and created the Sipal© brand.
Today, it is the only European enterprise specialised exclusively in the hydrolysis of organic cereals, thanks to its unique manufacturing process and its wide range of products.

Sedamyl

Over 50 years ago, the Frandino family founded the Seda company in Piedmont (northern Italy).
Seda is active in the transformation of fruits in alcohol.
In the 1980s, the company expanded its activities to include working with wheat and started producing starch, gluten and wheat-based glucose syrups and alcohol.
In 1992, following a partnership agreement with the Amylum group, the company changed its name to Sedamyl; the Frandino family continues to ensure its development.
At the end of the 1990s, the company took up a new challenge with its first seasons of gluten and starch made from organic wheat.
Today, the company is the n°1 in this sector and also in the sector of organic wheat transformation.
