Background
Meurens Natural and Sedamyl, two family-owned companies with a similar history, decide to share their know-how by creating Sipal Partners in 2002.

A Belgian company, Meurens Natural is the embodiment of the subtle combination of family tradition and industrial know-how in food processing developed for over 100 years.
1935
In Herve (Belgium), Joseph Meurens created a company specialising in processing the region’s fruits so as to continue an already very old family tradition.
1989
Wanting to diversify, the first conclusive tests for processing organic cereals into syrups were carried out, allowing a promising future to be foreseen.
1994
Having a great industrial know-how in food processing, Meurens Natural decided to completely restructure and devote itself exclusively to organic cereals by creating the Sipal® brand.
2004-2006
A major investment programme was undertaken at Meurens Natural so as to increase the capacity and efficiency of the productions, and to widen the Sipal® range:
- 2004: bulk storage of syrups (capacity +/-1,200 tons);
- 2005: universal mill and silos to produce cereal flours (rice, corn and malted barley);
- 2006: 9 filling lines for pails, drums, containers and bulk;
- 2006: second hydrolysis and concentration plant for increasing the capacity and efficiency of the production and to widen the Sipal® range.
2009
- Meurens Natural has obtained the ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 certifications.

After 20 years experience, Meurens Natural is nowadays the only European company that exclusively specialises in the hydrolysis of organic cereals. Its two main characteristics are the originality of its processing procedures and the scope of its product range.

Founder of the Italian Seda company, for over 50 years the Frandino family put all of its enthusiasm into transforming the fruits of Piedmont into alcohol.
1980
It extended its activities into working with wheat and produced starch, gluten, glucose syrups and alcohol syrups.
1992
Following a partnership agreement with the Amylum group, the company became Sedamyl, and the Frandino family continued to ensure its growth.
1996
Sedamyl has obtained the ISO 9001 certification. View the ISO 9001 certificate.
1999
It took up a new challenge with its first campaigns with organic gluten and wheat starch under the ‘Seda’ brand.
